Developer team successful at SAP InnoJam
Hanover, December 16 – The SolveIT team from the Hanover-based app and software development company tecRacer was among the six best teams at the InnoJam developer competition at SAP TechEd 2016 in Barcelona. In doing so, they demonstrated their expertise in application development with SAP and especially in the area of SAP HANA Cloud Platform (HCP).
At the InnoJam “Education and Research” held as part of SAP TechEd 2016 in Barcelona at the beginning of November, 15 different teams competed against each other. The task was to develop an app using innovative SAP services. The aim was to optimize resources and capacities of buildings, such as the room planning of lectures for teachers and students. The tecRacer team of five developers additionally extended its app “Com2Class” by measuring data of the room climate, which was visualized in the app. The competition lasted a total of 30 hours.
“It was an exhausting but also very valuable experience,” says Helge Fahlbusch, team leader of Team SolveIT. “Within a short time, we were able to acquire missing know-how and discuss possible solutions with other participants.” The IT company tecRacer, based in Hanover, Germany, founded the new HCP division for development based on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform at the end of 2015. This was triggered by a customer request.

They were immediately enthusiastic about development with HCP and completed a steep learning curve with the help of SAP,” explains Torsten Höpfner, Managing Director of tecRacer GmbH & Co. KG. “Our knowledge and experience from our Amazon Web Services, agile software development, and Big Data and Business Intelligence divisions perfectly complement the environment for HCP. In short, HCP is simply a good fit for us.”
Currently, tecRacer is planning to develop a learning platform based on HCP. Educational institutions and companies can use this as a rental model. Particular strengths of the planned platform include data handling and integration options. Companies can link the learning content with articles and products.
