Insider Story – Jiaxi Liu
Who am I?
My name is Jiaxi Liu, aka Tony. I was born in Shanghai, China, but have been living in Germany since 2004. I studied business informatics at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. I joined tecRacer Consulting in april 2020 and I am part of the Frankfurt team.
How did I get to tecRacer?
Before joining tecRacer, I worked as a consultant for another consulting company. The first time I heard about tecRacer was when we had a 3 day training for System Operations on AWS. In addition to the wealth of valuable AWS knowledge, I particularly remember how relaxed yet self-confident the tecRacer trainer was during the 3 days. After the 3 day training, I thought to myself, “That’s exactly the kind of trainer I would like to become one day!“
After the 3 day training, I took a lot of time to research about the company and also prepare for an AWS certification with the thought of being able to expand my knowledge in the area of Cloud Computing. After successfully achieving the certification of an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, I decided to apply for the position of Cloud Consultant at tecRacer. Following this, I also had an application day at our main location in Hannover and was happy to received my acceptance on the same day.
My experience with tecRacer
It’s difficult to summarize my experience since I started working at tecRacer, in a few words. It is multifaceted, challenging and you learn something new every day. You definitely need a high willingness to learn, but you are not left to your own devices. You can rely on your colleagues and you always get support where you need it.
At present, my main activity includes consulting and implementation of business critical applications for customers in the AWS Cloud. Our tasks include not only the coordination of multiple stakeholders and external service providers, but also the provisioning of AWS infrastructure and support of the application engineers from development to going live.
It was not easy for me to take a such a decision regarding my career path so early in my professional career. There were always questions. Was I being too forward-looking? Had I made the right decision? Nevertheless, I am very happy to have applied to tecRacer. I felt very welcome and I am still very happy about this career change. Most important to me is the opportunity to learn new things and having an impact on my work environment – both things are possible at tecRacer. For those who would like to apply to tecRacer, I can only encourage you to do so without any hesitation.
Bottom line
Collegiality, community and self-initialtive – that’s what I get at tecRacer and that’s what I would like to give back.
